Green Carrot Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie


Do you ever wake up and feel like you just need an extra infusion and boost of nutrients to dive in and take over body? I do. Being the busy mama that I am, I love this smoothie because you can kill two birds with one stone; 1) You get your leafy greens 2) Fruit and veggies 3) Healing and powerful anti-inflammatory booster 2) Antioxidants 3) Quality healthy fats, protein and calcium . But honestly, the best part is that this powerful healing smoothie can be made, with blender washed, in 5 minutes flat. Feel like it's too cold to have a smoothie during winter? The Green Carrot Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie


Ingredients:

3/4 cup almond milk

3/4 cup carrot juice*

1-2" piece of ginger, chopped

1-2" piece of turmeric root ( or 1 tsp ground)

1/2 banana, frozen

1/4 avocado*

large handful kale (no stems)

large handful parsley

1 tsp maca

1 tsp cinnamon

2 Tbsp Vanilla Protein Powder, hemp, chia, or pumpkin seeds

sprinkle of cacao nibs


Instructions

1. Measure wet ingredients into your blender. Add all dry ingredients, except cacao nibs and blend. Top with a sprinkle of cacao nibs.


*Notes:

- I often don't use the whole quart of carrot juice I use, so I have found that freezing the extra into ice cubes works great for pulling them out later for this delicious smoothie!

-Feel free to sub any nut butter for avocado or just add it in addition to.
