Happy Hormone Smoothie

This smoothie has become a morning staple that seamlessly carries me through to lunch, no snacks necessary. That said, I must be honest and admit this smoothie will not win the "best tasting smoothie of the year award", but it just may for the "get the job done and feel fabulous award". This is more of a functional smoothie that will stabilize your blood sugar, reduce brain fog, nix sugar cravings, curb appetite and alkalize your body. Maca, cacao, coconut, hemp and collagen are all known to balance hormones, while kale, spinach and mint will alkalize and refresh your body for a great start to your day. As goes my favorite morning saying, "It's a great day for a great day" , and that is just what you'll get with this vibrant morning libation! Cheers!

Happy Hormone Smoothie


Ingredients:

· 1 cup unsweetened hemp seed milk* (or almond, coconut, oat, rice, etc)

· 1 cup water*

· 2 TBSP Collagen* ( I love Dr Axe's )

· 2 TBSP raw cacao powder

· 1 heaping TBSP almond Butter

· 1 TBSP coconut butter (or coconut oil)

· 1 frozen banana*

· ½ bunch of kale, destemmed

· 2 giant handfuls spinach

· Small handful fresh mint (optional)


Directions:

1. Add all ingredients in the order listed in your blender, blend until smooth, enjoy!!!


*Notes:

-For a lower sugar option, use 1/2 a banana, and 1/4-1/2 an avocado

-Feel free to substitute your favorite protein powder instead of collagen or couple tablespoons of chia or hemp seeds.

-Sometimes I'll substitute coconut water for part or all of the water.
