Turmeric & Ginger Immunity Shots

Whenever I feel the start of a scratchy throat or the tiniest bit of congestion, I get myself to the nearest heath store and stock up on my top immune boosting buddies; ginger and turmeric. In addition to these two well known rockstars, there are a few additional undercover ingredients that make these immunity shots next level. We are talking oil of oregano, apple cider vinegar, lemon, coconut kefir water and cayenne. While you may already be familiar with most of these impressive ingredients, I wanted to highlight the lesser known superstars below.

Did you know that Oil of Oregano is higher in antioxidants than most fruits and vegetables, and is packed full of powerful compounds called phenols, and is effective in treating bacterial and fungal infections, inflammation and pain, among other conditions.

Now what about Apple Cider Vinegar? Apple cider vinegar benefits include improving weight loss, dropping blood pressure and cholesterol levels, stabilizing blood sugar, enhancing skin health, and relieving acid reflux symptoms.

Lastly, our gut buddy, Coconut Kefir. Coconut kefir is coconut water that has been fermented with kefir grains. Like dairy kefir, it provides fuel for the beneficial bacteria in your gut. These good bacteria fight unhealthy bacteria as well as infection. They also help stimulate digestion and boost your immune system.

-You can substitute coconut water for coconut kefir water

-Oregano Oil can be found in the vitamin section of a health food store in a tincture bottle.

-I will typically make a large batch of these shots, maybe 5, so that I have one for each day of my work week. I've found they last for 5 days in the fridge.
